I have been a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and sports massage therapist since 2008. I have taught various classes from Zumba, Boxing, Circuits.....to Body Combat, but I only found my real passion after giving birth to my precious little boy, Leonidas in 2015.
There was a lot of attention given to my baby by health professionals but I felt a bit overwhelmed with being a new mum and a little lost to be honest... even though I was a fitness professional, I was not sure how to start exercising properly, what was the safest and most effective way to do so, what were the key nutrients for tissue recovery and little I knew about the importance of relaxation and balancing those crazy pregnancy hormones.
Then I trained with the amazing Burrell Education to become a pre- and postnatal specialist so I could help other mum to be`s and new (and not so new) mums to get prepared for birth and then heal their bodies through safe exercise, nutritious food and relaxation techniques.
I have used my own experience of how I felt and what I have been through to perfect my workouts that have really worked for me in order to get back into shape, heal my abdominal separation/tissue damage and to give me the kick-start I needed to find my confidence again .
I have learnt a lot about the human body and how it works before I even thought of having a baby but going through the bodily and hormonal changes in my own body has put it into a completely different perspective....
I know where you are coming from when you have a sleepless night, feel worried and stressed, in pain and looking for `something` to make you feel more energetic, happier and to get you back in tune with your body and mind.
I also know that exercising through these hard times have transformed the way I felt about myself as a woman and the way I dealt with the stress of being a new mum.
Taking care of my own health and well-being has helped me hugely to be more in control, be more positive and confident...I got so passionate about helping other mums to find this `feeling` and that`s when Fitmums` Bible was born....
To empower, encourage and support mums to find a healthier and more active way of life and to create a hub for women where they meet other local mums, make friends, and enjoy our social events and workshops.
